Duration and therefore cost of courses will depend upon candidate’s level of experience. Costs are based on 4 candidates per course. Courses arranged for groups of fewer than 4 may incur a small additional charge per person. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place on a course.

NPTC assessments for candidates should be arranged through an independent assessment centre after successful completion of the relevant course. The assessment centre will make a charge for registration and assessment of candidates and cost will vary depending on the unit to be taken. We will happily advise you of the cost involved and arrange assessment with NPTC on your behalf.

Please note that candidates should be confident of their ability to pass the relevant NPTC unit before arranging an assessment as the registration and assessment fee is non-refundable. Your course instructor will be able to offer guidance and advice on this.

Work sites
If you wish to provide your own work site, a site visit would be advisable in order to assess its suitability and avoid any disappointment. You should also be aware that the site may be subject to legislation such as Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Area status or felling licenses.

Depending upon the site location, some additional travel/ accommodation costs may be incurred. These will be agreed in writing prior to the commencement of the course.

Equipment
Candidates are expected to provide their own personal protective equipment (PPE) as per current industry best practice, chainsaws, fuel and other equipment required for their course. A full list of the required equipment will be provided. Arborcraft may be able to loan equipment to candidates, please enquire prior to commencement of your course.
